HMI Speed Calibration
How to calibrate the indicated speed on the HMI to show the actual speed of the belt (in the field without a digital tachometer).
Turn on the machine and press “start”. The current indicated speed will be shown.
To calibrate the speed, adjust the “speed multiplier” value until the indicated speed matches the measured speed.
To measure the speed, feed 10ft of substrate into machine. Using a stop watch measure the time required to feed this length. Start timer as substrate enters machine and stop timer as substrate end enters machine. Convert this time to minutes from seconds (ie 90 seconds = 1.5 minutes).
Divide 10 by the time to get the speed. (Ie 10 / 1.5min= 6.66 ft/min)
Now adjust speed multiplier (in setup page) until the speed indicator shows 6.7
To calibrate the dwell time, take a sheet of paper 8.5 x 11. Time how long it takes to go through the machine. This is the dwell time. Adjust the time multiplier until the dwell on the main screen matches your measured time.
